Step 1: Get to know us.
Get to know our work by viewing our online gallery or by scheduling an in-person visit to our showroom. When in person we’ll talk about cabinet style, color/species, and rough measurements for your space.
Step 2: Get An Idea
Based on location, either fill out the Blue Fig Artisan Cabinetry Inquiry form or tell your in-person cabinet designer you’d like to receive a complimentary ballpark estimate.
After reviewing your ballpark estimate, and you find it works within your budget. You will receive an invoice for a design deposit. Cabinetry design deposits are 5% of the ballpark estimate. The full 5% will be applied toward your final design purchase.
Once the deposit is received a measurement team member will visit your space to take measurements. If this is a new build dimensional prints will need to be submitted.
Note: This deposit is non-refundable (for design services rendered) should you choose not to order.
Step 3: Cement The Idea
We will now begin to join all the details together during a conceptual design meeting.
In this meeting will cover…
- Function: Discuss in detail your needs and desires for the space.
- Cabinetry Finish: Select your paint color and/or wood species and stain color.
- Countertops: Discuss stone type, finish, and profile. Then go view and hand-select your very own slabs. We take care of everything from there.
- Appliances: Work with our preferred vendor Heydlauff Appliance or select on your own. If selecting on your own we will need detailed specs for each appliance.
- Fixtures, Sinks, Hardware: Review and select from our curated options or select on your own. If selecting on your own we will need detailed specs for each item.
Step 4 Your future space
Now that all of your selections have been made your cabinet designer will begin to create the space that is perfect for you.
The average timeframe for this step is approximately 2 weeks. Larger projects may require more time.
Step 5: Approve your design
Now that your initial design is complete a final walk-through meeting will be scheduled. Included in the cabinetry deposit are revisions based on product tier. Additional revisions, if needed are available at our hourly rate, are non-refundable, and will not be applied toward your cabinetry purchase. Revisions will begin after the revision retainer payment is received.
Step 6: Confirm measurements and review pricing
Once your design has been approved, final pricing along with numbered drawings and a
corresponding parts list will be provided.
- This is important: Review your drawings and confirm all measurements and dimensions are correct.
- If any changes have been made to the structure a remeasure is nearly a non-negotiable. Please contact us or complete this step before ordering.
Blue Fig Artisan is not responsible for inaccurate measurements. All cabinetry is non-returnable and non-refundable.
Once you accept your quote we will send an invoice to remit payment. A payment of 60% of the total is required to place your order. Once payment is received, your cabinetry order will be placed. Lead time is based on product selection and a detailed date will be given once cabinetry is ordered. See product offering for approximate lead times.
Step 7: Delivery and Installation
You will be notified in advance to schedule your delivery. At this point, the remaining balance of 40% less your 5% deposit will be due to release your order.
When your order is finalized, each piece will be protected and loaded onto the shipping truck or trailer.
We deliver directly to you. Upon arrival, each piece is brought to the end of the truck, inspected, and handed to your crew to carry into your home. We recommend having 2-3 able-bodied people on-site to facilitate. Once this is complete a release will need to be signed confirming all pieces were received as intended.
If needed an installation call can be scheduled for any additional clarification. This conversation must include you, your installer, and your Blue Fig designer.
If we “Blue Fig Artisan” are the installers we will have an on-site install meeting with you, and the GC, if applicable to talk through the installation process.
Step 8: Countertop Installation
Now that your cabinets are installed a template can be made for your countertops. This process is done via laser to ensure your countertops will be a perfect fit. Once all the measurements are taken your countertops will be fabricated via CNC water jet cutting. The average turnaround time from template to countertop installation is typically 2-3 weeks.
